Shawarma is a very delicious snack, that is both filling and healthy. I remember the first time I had a shawarma wrap, I almost vowed never to eat shawarma again, because it tasted horrible. However this impression changed when I ate a very delicious wrap. After several wraps, I decided to create an improved shawarma recipe.
As I popularly say, a good shawarma starts with a delicious shawarma sauce. Let’s get right into my unique shawarma recipe.
Ingredients:
Tortilla wraps, or any wrap of your choice.
Cabbage
Cucumber
Carrots
Chicken breast
Sausages
Sweet chilli sauce
Mayonnaise
Barbecue sauce
Ketchup
Salt
Chicken cube
Onion powder
Black pepper
Ginger powder
Garlic powder
Suya spice
Vegetable oil
Procedure:
First season your chicken breast with 1 chicken cube, 1/2 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of onion powder, 1 tsp of ginger, 1/2 tsp of black pepper, 1/2 tbsp of Suya spice, 1 tsp of garlic powder, 1/2 tbsp of barbecue sauce and 1/2 tbsp of hot sauce. Set the marinated chicken breast aside for 1 hour or overnight to marinate properly.
Cut your cabbage and cucumber finely, and also grate your carrot to your desired size and set aside.
Once chicken has marinated properly, add 3 cooking spoons of vegetable oil in a pan and fry the chicken breast for 3 minutes, turning it frequently to avoid it getting burnt. Once it has cooked properly, remove from the fire and set it aside.
On the same pan, add your sausages and fry for 2 minutes, turning it on each side to avoid it getting burnt.
In a sauce bowl, put 2 tbsp of Mayonnaise, 1 tbsp of Ketchup, and 1/2 tbsp of Sweet chilli sauce and mix together.
Add your Cabbage, Carrot and diced cucumber in a mixing bowl and add some of the Mayonnaise + Ketchup + Sweet chilli sauce and mix together.
Then spread your tortilla wrap, and rub in some of the Mayo + Ketchup + Sweet chilli sauce on the surface of the wrap.
Next, add in some of the mixed vegetables (Cabbage, carrot and cucumber). Then place one sausage on the side, as well as some fried chicken and wrap carefully. Ensure that you fold in the ends of the wrap when wrapping, to avoid leakage.
Get a dry pan, and put the lose edge of the wrap faced down on the pan to seal its edges.
Your shawarma is ready!!!
